Biohybrid polymer synthesis

Advances in both radical polymerisation and bioconjugation techniques now permit many complementary functionalities to be incorporated in polymer architectures with precision. We have interests in in pushing the limits of these synthetic techniques to uncover new materials with responsive functionalities.

Hierarchical artificial cells

Many of nature’s most important processes involve transient assembled structures. We use self-assembly and soft matter engineering and to create specific spherical and non-spherical compartmentalized structures, that have adaptive and life-like behaviour inspired by natural biological systems.


RNA therapeutics and formulations

We design and investigate investigate novel lipid-like polymer materials for use in complexing nucleic acid therapeutic molecules, and for improved stability and efficacy.
